There are many effects that humans can have on hot and dry deserts, but positive effects aren't very common at all. Negative effects on the other hand are very common. Urbanization, agriculture, military training, off highway vehicle use, construction of roads, pollution, and livestock grazing are all ways in which humans cause problems for the hot and dry deserts.
